Dear car owner!

Please note that the AUTHOR Alarm’s anti-theft devices are not intended for self-installation. We strongly recommend to install and configure the purchased equipment only in certified installation centers. Devices installed by non-certified installers are not subjected to warranty and service!

The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage resulting from the use of the device not for its intended purpose and non-compliance with safety rules.

General information

VOLK module is the broad-band detector (100-2700 MHz) of radio-frequency signals that enables the evaluation of the impact of jammers (radio frequency interference generators used for car thefts) and allows to inform a car-owner in advance.

How it works

VOLK module switches on 1 minute after the ignition is off. The device analyses the intensity of the electromagnetic background and in case the detection of any electromagnetic interference from jammers the module sends signal to car siren and the «status» output wire to which GSM-system or alarm system can be connected (for alarm of jamming via standard security systems).

Detection of electromagnetic interference takes some time. So it can pass up to 10 seconds from the moment of detection and alert signal triggering.

If it is necessary to disable the security function of the device in case of electromagnetic interference, start the ignition (the siren will be switched off, the «status» output signal won’t be active). Afterwards the device will be in sleep mode for energy-saving.

Alert modes

Standard mode

In case of electromagnetic interference the device will be sending constant signal to the siren and to «status» output wire. The device switches off the alert in 0-8 seconds after the electromagnetic interference stops. The duration of alert will not exceed 1 minute.

Impulse mode

In case of electromagnetic interference the device will be sending impulse signals to the siren and to «status» output wire that will last for 20 seconds until the interference disappear. (The duration of each impulse lasts 2 seconds and the pauses between impulses last 2 seconds).

If the high intensity interference will be still present, the device will give out new alert signal in 1 minute after the first alert was switched off. The duration of this new impulse will last for not less than 20 seconds until the interference disappear. The maximum number of alerts before ignition switch on/off is equal to 2.

6/30 mode

In case of electromagnetic interference the device will be sending impulse signals to the siren and to «status» output wire that will last for 30 seconds (regardless the duration time of interference).

If the electromagnetic interference level will still be high after the first alert the module will give out new alert for 30 seconds. It will start in 5 seconds after the previous alert was switched off. The maximum number of alerts before ignition switch on/off is equal to 6.

Switching the ignition ON during the alert does not affect the VOLK operation: the siren signal and the output «status» will be provided until the cycle of 6 notifications is completed. If the interference signal level decreases earlier, VOLK will «remember» the number of alerts issued and will not react on switching the ignition until the interference signal level will increase and the remaining alert cycles are completed.

If the ignition is switched ON after the end 6/30 alert cycles was finished the system will not allow to activate alert when the interference signal level will increase again.

How to choose the alert mode

To choose the needed alert mode you have to switch the ignition (switch on/off is equal to one action) as indicated in the table below:

Alert modeNumber of ignition switches (on/off)
Standard mode*7
Impulse mode8
6/30 mode9

* switched on by default

If the alert mode change was successful the module will give out confirmation signals to the siren and to the Status output (blue wire). Number of signals will be equal to the corresponding number of ignition switches (see the table). If there is no confirmation signals you should check the wiring connection and try again.

Installation and module settings

To connect VOLK module, connect its wires the following way:

1. Green. Siren output «+».
2. Red. To permanent power supply «+» (12 V).
3. Black. To the Ground «-».
4. Blue. Status output for connection of the external devices «-».
5. Yellow. Ignition «+».

When the device is connected one shall diagnose if it is functioning and if the connection is correct. Do the following steps in order to switch the diagnostic mode:

  1. Switch the ignition 11 times (start-stop). The interval shall not exceed 5 seconds.
  2. Wait for the siren signals:
    • If the module is successfully connected, there will be three sound signals.
    • If the module is not installed properly, only one (3 seconds long) signal will be given.
    • If there is no siren signal, check the connection once again and repeat the procedure.
  3. If the diagnostic mode is not switched, in 5 seconds the standard mode will be set again.
